The creators of a recently launched gallery education CD-ROM and publication have received further funds from the Arts Council of Wales to further develop their work over the next two years. The education tool, Opt for Art, was created by 'engage Cymru', a membership organisation who aim to support education and interpretation programme providers within art galleries in Wales. The CD-ROM and publication documents a Wales-wide school and art gallery project involving nearly 20,000 students. According to the Arts Council of Wales, the project was one of the first major initiatives funded through the ACW Arts for All Lottery scheme, receiving £217,000, and has now received a further £44,867 to continue education and development work over the next two years. Chair of 'engage Cymru', Michael Tooby said, 'ACW’s support is a response to engage’s strategy of creating structures which reflect devolved government, and ensure that distinctive but integrated policies and initiatives in Wales form a core part of our work.'
