Ifacca Board Meets In Barcelona

The interim board of IFACCA, comprising experts in government funding of the arts and culture in Canada, Finland, Latin America, Ireland, Singapore and Australia, concluded its two-day meeting in Barcelona today. Business included membership, new projects, finances and the 2003 World Summit - the theme of which will be announced next month. Guests at the meeting included Dr Jonathan Katz, Executive Director of the US National Assembly of State Arts Agencies, who shared his expertise in developing associations and member services; Péter Inkei, Executive Director of the Budapest Observatory to discuss the financing of culture in East-Central Europe; and Diane Dodd, the Coordinator of CIRCLE, Cultural Information and Research Centres Liaison in Europe. The board also met with representatives of various cultural agencies in Barcelona at a meeting organised by Eduard Delgado, Director of Interarts, the European Observatory for Cultural Research and International Cultural Cooperation.
