DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The American Music Center, a national service and information center for new American music, seeks a Director of Development to join its senior management team.

The Director of Development is responsible for the design and implementation of all contributed income programs necessary to achieve the goals and objectives set forth by AMC’s Board of Directors. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to strategically formulate and execute fundraising campaigns for annual giving, program funding, special projects, planned giving, and endowment needs from a combination of foundations, corporations, government sources, and individuals. The Director of Development is also closely involved with marketing and membership functions.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 7-10 years of progressive experience in development and demonstrated success in fundraising and development required. Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills demonstrated in prior leadership and managerial roles. Background, knowledge, or interest in contemporary concert music or performing arts preferred.
