IFACCA/Artshub,
05 December 2002, Greece

Greek and international translators may be interested in an award on offer from the Greek Government. Granted by the Ministry of Culture, as part of its focus on promoting and disseminating Greek literature to a worldwide audience, the annual prize is granted for the translation of a work of Greek literature into a foreign language. Entries will be judged by a nine-member panel, consisting of two university professors, two literary critics, two Modern Greek scholars and three translators. Entrants are required to submit a translated work that has been published between January 1 and December 21, 2002. All entries should be submitted at the National Library of Greece prior to January 31, 2003. The prize is monetary and, in recent years, has been 14,673 Euros.
