Department of Art Education, The Ohio State University Closing Date: Friday, February 21, 2003 or until filled Professor to fill a one-year position in the Art Education Department's Arts Policy and Administration MA Program. The position may be renewable for three years. Art Education: The Department of Art Education and The College of the Arts at The Ohio State University are conducting a search to hire a one-year Visiting Assistant or Associate Professor to fill a position in The Art Education Department’s Arts Policy and Administration MA Program. The position may be renewable for three years. Responsibilities: The applicant’s duties include the opportunity to teach arts management, arts education policy, and/or museum education courses in our Arts Administration and Policy MA Program, and advise and serve on committees for MA and Ph.D. students. It is also expected that the applicant will teach undergraduate courses for the department that are consistent with their background and interest dealing with contemporary arts philosophy, culture, and/or criticism. Also included in this position is the possibility of teaching arts administration and policy courses, and/or workshops for the College of the Arts at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Other duties include conducting research in arts administration and policy and serving the Department/University and broader education and local communities. Qualifications: The required qualifications include: a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) or equivalent experience, knowledge of any of the following: arts management, educational policy issues, and/or museum education. A strong interest in research and publication is essential and higher education teaching experience is desirable. Salary: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
