The PRISM Fund, which acquires and conserves objects or collections of industrial or scientific importance, is to be administered by Resource. In April, the Council for Museums, Libraries and Archives will take over the day-to-day running of the fund from the Science Museum, which will continue to play a key role by providing expert advice. Resource currently allocates an annual grant of £250,000 to the fund. Peter Windsor, Resource’s Collections Development Manager, commented: ‘We are indebted to the Science Museum, which has done a wonderful job of running and developing the fund since its inception in 1973, and we look forward to continuing a close working relationship with them and to utilising their expertise frequently.’ Over the past 30 years, the PRISM Fund has assisted more than 350 museums, archives and specialist libraries to conserve almost 2,500 objects.
