Resource Chief Executive Anna Southall has announced her resignation, citing family reasons and expressing regret at leaving the Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries before the launch of a number of major projects. ‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Resource, it has been enormously exciting and fulfilling,’ Southall said in a statement. ‘I know that the commitment of the Board and of the staff will ensure that there is no let-up in the momentum to achieve maximum success for the whole of the museums, archives and libraries centre.’ Resource’s Acting Chair, Mark Wood, said the Board accepted Southall’s decision with regret but with understanding. He said Resource was in ‘good shape’ to deliver on planned major programmes. Arts Minister Tessa Blackstone urged the Board to continue with its work. ‘Resource is now moving into a challenging and exciting period of its development and I know that the Board will want to move quickly to find a new Chief Executive,’ she said. Recruitment for a new Chief Executive will begin in the summer. Deputy Chief Executive, Chris Batt, will take up the position of Acting Chief Executive on May 12.
