French Culture Minister announces new museum council

French Culture Minister Jean Jacques Aillagon has announced the establishment of a High Council for French Museums, to address issues relating to the country’s museum sector. Minister Aillagon said the High Council would meet annually and would be the consultative body for the sector on issues such as the transfer of collections from one museum to another. Consisting of a president and 22 other members, as well as the Minister for Culture and Communication, the council would also be able to present museums with the title, ‘Musée de France’.
