We want to maximise the contribution of the arts to the lifelong learning and regeneration objectives of the County Borough, and support the growth of creative industries in Wales. Helping to improve the quality of life in our communities, we're committed to providing a diverse programme of performances, screenings, exhibitions, and participatory and development projects for local people and visitors. The onus for this falls directly on Cultural Services, and these new posts are at the heart of this progressive department and its innovative agenda. This role will see you developing, negotiating and presenting a cohesive artistic programme of events and activities for Cultural Services, balancing commercial needs with artistic and audience objectives. Developing an appropriate Programming Strategy, you'll oversee the associated operational, marketing, technical, administrative and sales/customer service functions, ensuring that all activities reflect our overall agenda as well as best practice. Developing and leading a programming team, you'll facilitate creative partnerships with venues and key stakeholders, retaining tight financial controls, and securing new funding where possible. You'll be aware of current developments within this sector, with a broad and in-depth knowledge of contemporary arts practice, performing arts, visual arts and arts development.
