England's North East receives cultural funding boost

Arts Council England North East, along with 15 other agencies, have brought together funding from a range of private and public sources totalling £8.5 million to contribute to the region's cultural sector. Of the total amount, £3.8 million came from a successful bid made by Arts Council England North East, calling on European investment. 'Culture and creativity play a key role in developing the region's economy,' said Jane Robinson, Director of External Relations at Arts Council England, North East.
