An international conference taking place in Cardiff, Wales from November 24-27 will focus on how the arts, culture and media can help reshape societies and identities. 'A Sense of Place – Displacement and Integration' will attempt to address issues including the role of different cultures in enriching host countries and the role of arts in education. The conference will also look at how displaced artists are contributing to innovative arts practice, as well as using artistic expression to re-encounter or redefine their identity. The event will provide practical tools for a range of disciplines, such as educational resources and guidance on programming arts by displaced peoples into mainstream cultural and artistic activity.
