Music Specialist

As part of the restructuring of the Arts Council in the Republic of Ireland, the roles of arts policy advice and grant administration formerly undertaken by artform officers have been reassigned to arts specialists and grant programme managers respectively. Building on the work already done to articulate a strategy for music, the Arts Council now wishes to retain a Music Specialist on a part-time consulting basis. The role of the specialist is: 1. To produce a strategy for the development of music, and to monitor its implementation; 2. To advise the Arts Council on artistic promise and achievement in music; 3. To work with Arts Council staff in delivering the Council's strategic objectives for music The specialist will have at least five years' experience working at senior level within music in Ireland or overseas; a developed knowledge and understanding of the aesthetic and artistic environments within music, nationally and internationally; and a developed knowledge and understanding of the public policy and commercial operating conditions within music, nationally and internationally. The deadline for receipt of tenders is 12 noon on Monday September 29.
