The ASEAN Festival of Arts, which ran from October 14 to 18, ended with a gala dance performance presented by 11 countries in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysia Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism announced. The festival carried the theme ‘Movements and Rhythms of ASEAN’, and was organised to promote solidarity, co-operation and greater collaboration in arts and culture in the region. An estimated 5,000 people attended the finale, which showcased the rich cultures of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, along with host country Malaysia. The festival was organised by Malaysia’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Tourism and was held in conjunction with the recent meetings of the ASEAN Ministries in charge of Culture and Arts.
