Artists in the United States who need professional information of almost any sort can visit a database designed exclusively for them. NYFA Source offers a comprehensive list of opportunities for artists, hosting financial, educational, technological, and institutional resources and information. The free online portal identifies more than 3,400 arts organisations, 3,100 services programs, 900 arts publications and 2,800 awards programs, spanning dance, design, media, music, theatre, folk/traditional, literary, performance and visual arts realms. A search engine allows users to hone queries, and specialised personal assistance is available. NYFA Source was developed by the New York Foundation for the Arts in partnership with the Urban Institute and the Pew Fellowships in the Arts, in response to a 2002 Institute study that recommended an arts database to support artists and the national industry.
