Cultural activities a highlight of Trinidad birthday

Trinidad village residents recently celebrated the 490th anniversary of the Santísima Trinidad village (The Holy Trinidad) with a blaze of culture. Founded on January 5, 1514, by early Don Diego Velázquez on behalf of the Spaniard Catholic Crown, the Santísima village has unique cultural and historical signficance to the region. To celebrate the ocassion, a wealth of festivities were held across the local 'Week of Culture' from January 11-17; including an exhibit of plastic arts, a Trinidad traditional cuisine expo, dedications, street performance and more.
