The first Asia Pacific Journal of Arts and Cultural Management was recently launched in Australia. Spearheaded by the Arts and Cultural Management Program at the University of South Australia’s International Graduate School of Management (IGSM), the new e-journal is the first of its kind to specifically address arts and cultural management issues for the Asia Pacific region. Journal editor, Associate Professor Jo Caust (IGSM) said, ‘The purpose of the journal is to develop a critical discussion of arts practice in the Asia Pacific region. The Journal aims to support the promotion of a research ethos within the arts and cultural sector in the Asia Pacific and to provide a platform for debate on current theories and models of management practice.’ The first edition is free to access and includes papers addressing the development of cultural policy in Singapore, copyright issues for Australian indigenous artists, entrepreneurial strategies for performing arts organisations in New Zealand, the development of cultural management education programs in Vietnam, among others. There will be three editions per annum available by subscription on line. To access the first, free edition online, CLICK HERE.
