Museums And Galleries Month Names Sponsor

The Campaign for Museums has announced that Eurostar will be the principal sponsor for the 2004 Museums and Galleries Month (MGM). With over 1,400 participating museums and galleries each May, MGM is the largest museum promotion in the world. Eurostar sits very neatly with this year’s theme – The art of travelling. The Eurostar design team is finalising a striking new poster to feature at railway stations around the country ensuring a greater public profile for the event. Eurostar will also support the 24 Hour Museum/MGM travel writers’ competition which will encourage established and new writers to explore the theme of the art of travelling. In 2004 MGM is crossing the Channel. The Campaign for Museums is working closely with the French Department of Museums which organises Printemps des Musées, a one-day celebration of European Museums on Sunday 2 May. Eurostar will help to promote MGM in France and Belgium and a schools exchange is also planned. Museums and Galleries Month will be launched in London on 29 April. For more information, CLICK HERE
