Film Arts is searching for an ED who has an enthusiasm for the arts and the creative and activist role of independent film; who has strong background in both program and financial management; who is an excellent team builder, among staff, Board and stakeholders. Marketing and communication skills are a must. The ED will play a role in supporting and advocating for independent film on the West Coast and nationally. The ED supervises all Film Arts staff, and works collaboratively with the Film Arts President and its Board of Directors. The ED oversees all program operations, fund development, marketing and strategic planning and is responsible for ensuring the financial stability and long-term sustainability of the organization. The ED reports directly to the Film Arts Board of Directors and has ultimate responsibility for all organizational decisions. The ED is responsible for crafting a compelling vision for Film Arts that is embraced both internally, by staff and members, and externally by stakeholders and audiences. Key Attributes: - Dynamic, energetic, outgoing personality - A creative thinker, combined with ability to implement change and evaluate performance - Ability to unify and build support and accountability among people at every level (staff, Board, members and stakeholders) - Resourceful and entrepreneurial about member services and programs - Strong fiscal and business management skills - Engaging and persuasive personality; sense of humor and an ability to lead a very dynamic and committed staff. Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years experience at the senior management level, in a nonprofit arts or media arts organization with budget of over $1 million. - Demonstrated leadership in fundraising & resource development - Proven experience in strategic planning, and financial management - Experienced manager and supervisor of 15+ staff Communications, public relations, public speaking skills - Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and a commitment to workplace diversity.
