Arts Co-ordinator

The British Council USA (BCUSA) is seeking to recruit an Arts Co-ordinator to provide support for our arts work in the US. Reporting to the Arts Manager the Arts Co-ordinator will contribute to the delivery of the British Council?s arts strategy. This involves high impact projects; tours; performances with US partners in order to present an up to date, diverse and contemporary image of the UK. Current work is in the performing arts, literature and visual arts. Duties include: project co-ordination; management of arts customer relations management system, co-ordination of BC presence at national conferences, contribution to promotional material such as website pages, brochures, on-line targeted information; market information/advice to UK artists and organisations and US partners; and general administration of arts work and office. Applicants must have a BA, at least 2-3 years experience in an arts organisation; marketing experience and be computer literate. Preferred: website development; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; writing skills; strong organisational and administrative skills; knowledge of contemporary US arts, detail oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work as part of a team.
