Americans for the Arts is the leading nonprofit organisation for advancing the arts in America. With more than 40 years of service, it is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts. The Director of Marketing will serve as the chief marketing planner with responsibility for developing and carrying out the overall marketing direction, policies, and activities for Americans for the Arts, including promoting the organisation and its ancillary programs, products, and services, which serve multiple and diverse auidences. The Director of Marketing will work to establish plans for increasing the customer base of the organisation and a holistic approach to reaching these targets across all departments. The Director of Marketing reports to the Associate Vice President of Communications and works closely with other key staff in all departments on cross-promotional marketing efforts within the organisation. This position requires the expansion and ongoing analysis of Americans for the Arts target markets to maximise both overall organisational growth and brand expansion, specific product development, and sales for Americans for the Arts' varying market segments. Skills Required: - Demonstrated competency in the development and implementation of marketing plans, including research, strategies, promotion, and evaluation - Experience in developing and maintaining organisational branding efforts - Excellent planning, analytical, and project management skills - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships while working with teams - Excellent written and oral communications skills - Strong organisational skills and attention to detail - Strong computer skills, including database management Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree (marketing major preferred) plus a minimum of five years arts marketing management experience; Master's Degree (marketing or arts management) preferred. A background in the arts is preferred.
