The ECF has announced the post of Project Manager for the forthcoming Laboratory of European Cultural Cooperation. The LAB falls under the framework of the ECF (initial contract of 18 months, prolongation possible). The Project Manager will report to the director of the ECF and the steering committee of the LAB. Key Responsibilities/ Tasks - Overall management and coordination of the LAB - Development of the LAB, its sub elements and projects and making it an operational and sustainable networking tool - Further conceptualizing the role of the LAB with its stakeholders - Ensuring the LAB to become the reference point of European cultural cooperation in joint ownership - Ensuring closest possible cooperation with stakeholders and partners - Financial and political lobbying - Representation of the LAB on internal and external occasions (seminars, conferences) - Managing a team of 2-4 people (plus free lancers in a virtual team) Required competences, qualifications and skills - A minimum of 8 years working experience in European contexts, preferably in cultural management, cultural policy, cultural information management or cultural consultancy - Excellent communicative and networking skills - Excellent knowledge of the field of cross border cooperation, preferably cultural cooperation - Excellent people management capacity and team leadership skills - Excellent project management skills - Profound knowledge of the field of information and knowledge management - Experience of financial management, monitoring and reporting) - Fluency in English and French - Computer literacy - Experience of working in a trans national working environment/ working across different cultures - Loyalty, tolerant behaviour and trust-building capacity - Pro-active attitude - Able to deal with stress - Willingness and capacity to travel a great deal Timing & logistics - Envisaged start date of employment: 1 November 2004 - Interviews are envisaged to take place end of August/ early September - Applications in the form of a covering letter, detailed current CV, plus a one-page outline on the possible role and functions of the LAB, references, salary expectations, only via e-mail and in English, to: [email protected]
