Public Library Impact Measures

The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (UK),
01 March 2005, United Kingdom

The first set of Public Library Impact Measures for the UK has been launched at a seminar in London. The proposed measures for 2005/6 have been put together after extensive consultation and piloting with a wide range of Library Authorities. They complement the revised Public Library Service Standards launched in October 2004. The proposals are the starting point in the process of identifying 'robust ' measures to provide evidence of the effect public libraries have on communities. Guidance is also provided on community profiling which forms the basis on which to identify community needs for library services. To view the Impact Measures, CLICK HERE.
