Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change,
01 April 2005, United Kingdom

The newly launched Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) is a £3.7 million Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) -funded major international Research Centre analysing socio-cultural change. It is the first major Research Centre in Britain to develop a broad, empirically focused account of cultural change and its economic, social and political implications. The Centre has published its first online newsletter, to be released twice a year. The inaugural instalment looks back at CRESC's launch event in mid January, introduces the four major CRESC research themes, examines the Centre's distinctive approach, and highlights coming events at CRESC, including their first conference in July 2005.
