The Australia Council for the Arts is the Australian Government’s arts funding and advisory body. It supports excellent, innovative and distinctive artistic creation, encourages all Australians to be engaged with and enriched by the arts and seeks to build a vital and viable arts sector. The Australia Council is changing and aims to have greater impact and flexibility in its role as a catalyst for the arts in Australia. We are looking for leaders to make it happen – committed, experienced, driven, articulate. The Director Community Partnerships is a new position. It is the leader of the Community Partnerships team with responsibility to: · To lead and support the integration of cultural development into the broad fabric of Australian life · To encourage community, government and private sector agencies to foster cultural development as essential to their place in civil society · To assist communities to realise their own cultural development objectives.
