IFACCA is delighted to release the final version of its research report Statistical Indicators for Arts Policy. Incorporating comments and feedback received following the release of the discussion paper in July 2004, the report takes a global view of cultural indicators, drawing out some analytical and coordination issues identified in the literature and by those who commented on the discussion paper. The report:

identifies current work being undertaken in developing cultural indicators;

explores issues affecting future development work on cultural indicators; and

provides an introduction to the literature on cultural indicators. The report also summarises some 'good practice' points drawn from the literature. IFACCA intends to continue to work on indicator development, with a particular focus on the statistical needs of arts funding agencies.
