The Netherlands' Tilburg University is seeking an Assistant Professor for its Department of Social and Cultural Sciences. Candidates' research will focus on one or several aspects of leisure (behavior, management, policy), or on social issues that have a direct relation with leisure [Leisure includes media, culture, sports, recreation, and tourism]. Social issues related to leisure may focus, for instance, on cultural participation and social inequality, time use in relation to work, care, or participation in civil society. The candidates' research has to be of high quality, manifested in publications in international, peer-reviewed journals, and in a sufficient number of citations. Academic output has to meet the standards the Faculty of Social Sciences applies for allocating research time to individual researchers. The position of Assistant Professor requires experience in acquiring and coordinating large-scale research projects, as well as in supervising junior researchers. Candidates must also adequate experience in academic teaching, preferably at Master level, and have obtained good external evaluations (e.g. by students). They are able to contribute to the curricula the Department is responsible for. Salary will be between €2934 and €4580 per month, depending on experience. The employment contract is temporary, with a tenure position possible at a later date, dependent on satisfactory job performance.
