Asian ministers sign pact

22 different Asian countries took part in a historic signing recently, with the ministers of cultural affairs gathering in China for the Cultural Asia Ministerial Forum. The ministers signed the ‘Foshan Statement’ on 12th November. The statement was designed to help foster peace, friendship and the exchange of culture to the countries involved, recognising the dominance of economic globalisation and the need to preserve culture in a cooperative environment. The ministers were also recognising the need for political and economical cooperation in order to create better cultural exchanges. The declaration announces that the signatories will make a significant contribution to the maintenance of culture both nationally, locally and internationally. The delegates also participated in the 7th Asia Art Festival which included performances from artists from many different Asian countries. For more information, CLICK HERE.
