Minister commits to heritage museum

The Minister of National Development, Investment and Culture for Belize, Mark Espat, has recently signed an agreement which will renew the government’s support for the National Institute of Culture and History’s Gulisi Garifuna Museum. The museum has just celebrated its first anniversary, which showcases artifacts, photos, videos, music and other cultural materials that displays the history and traditions of the Gariguna people. Under the new agreement NICH pledged to offer tours, including mobile lectures, exhibitions, performances and forums. Financial support to the museum will be for one year, with an option to renew.
