Recently the National Arts Council of Namibia discussed a four-day fact-finding mission to Zambia, in the hopes of creating collaborations with other arts councils in the area.
Chairperson, Vincent Mwemba, and deputy chairperson, Alma Ulamba, visited Zambia on behalf of the board. The board meeting also involved a formal request for artists to take part in a logo competition for the Arts Council, an independent account being opened for the finances of the council, an annual award ceremony, and plans for a three-day workshop from an arts council expert from Botswana.
The National Arts Council has since its inception been operating on a budget of N$200 000 from the Ministry of Youth, National Service, Sport and Culture to implement its operations and activities. The next board meeting will be held on February 15.
