The Ethiopian Ministry of Culture and Tourism has prepared a guideline that will help create a sustainable five-year plan for culture. This includes a re-organisation of the Ministry, established in October 2005. Minister of Culture and Tourism Ambassador, Mohamoud Dirir, said a task force has been working on a permanent structure for the Ministry and other initiatives include a move to make the Dire Sheikh Hussein Cultural and Religious Site a UNESCO world heritage site. Studies are being undertaken on dispute resolution mechanisms (called 'Gomme') in the area, with a documentary film to be made of the local areas. The national cultural policy is being reviewed, with inclusions on language, and research has been taken from the British Council to create better situations for cultural activities in Ethiopia.
