The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe has announced that it will be reviving its arts magazine. NGOMA, to be published by Pamberi Trust, will take a look at arts and cultural issues of the nation. The potential for the international trade in arts is growing, with potential in Zimbabwe to further its international cultural standing. Pamberi trustee and creative director Paul Brickhill, said: "If the arts are to be a vital force in the life of the nation, we have to accept responsibility to nurture diversity, to identify and sustain emerging talent and to create facilities for community participation in the arts." Citing recent popular and successful artists and arts organisations, Brickhill is pleased to promote and support local culture. The magazine will be published quarterly from this year onwards. The first issue contains information and news on Zimbabwean arts, opinions from arts commentators, reviewers and promoters, and much more. Artists are invited to forward information to Pamberi Trust at [email protected], for either the magazine or the website (under construction). For subscriptions contact [email protected] or [email protected].
