Artists and the Creative Economy

Does the presence of something called the “creative class” make a positive impact on a place? On the surface, the answer is, of course, yes. But arts consultant Ann Daly likes to explore beneath the surface. She wants to know if the artists themselves are benefiting from the boom in creative economies and, if not, how they can begin to do so. In this interview with Milwaukee Public Radio, Ann Daly also outlines her views on economic impact studies, and paticularly their uses - and risks - in advocating the arts, and explores strategies for the arts to promote themselves.
