Starting on: 1 September 2006 Contract: FTE for 2 years Framework: Employed at European Cultural Foundation, Reporting to the LabforCulture Steering Committee, LabforCulture Stakeholders Forum, and the ECF Board LabforCulture(LfC) is a new, fully interactive online platform for all those involved in arts and culture who collaborate and produce across borders in Europe. It is backed by a vast network of partners and also carries out a range of offline activities, such as workshops and research. LabforCulture aims to be the point of reference for information, debate, exchange and research on European cultural cooperation. After an intensive and successful development and testing period, LabforCulture is going live now. LabforCulture is a partner initiative of the European Cultural Foundation (ECF), with its own governance structure, but legally and financially under auspices of ECF. LabforCulture is funded by a coalition of public and private funders from all over Europe. Responsibilities - Overall leadership and management of LabforCulture - Based on established LabforCulture profile and methodologies, ensure the further development as the innovative online reference point for all those engaged in European Cultural Cooperation across the broader Europe (in close collaboration with Editors in Chief and Team) - Ensuring effective cooperation with existing Stakeholders and Partners, and widening the partner base in order to reach out to new audiences - Close collaboration with existing funders, financial and political lobbying and further developing the fundraising strategy to ensure sustainability beyond the pilot phase - In collaboration with the Steering Committee work towards a sustainable organisational model after the pilot phase as of 2008 - Ensuring successful communication of the project in the broader Europe - Representation of LabforCulture on internal and external occasions - Working with and managing a team of 5 staff members and 10 – 15 free lancers in a remote network Required competences, qualifications and skills - Academic education - A minimum of 10 years working experience in new media development and cultural management or cultural policy preferably in a transnational, European context - Profound knowledge in the field of online information and knowledge management with an understanding and interest in the use of new technologies in the cultural sector - Profound knowledge of the field of transnational artistic or cultural cooperation - Excellent leadership capacity, project and team management skills - Excellent lobbying and fundraising skills (with existing contacts and knowledge of private and public funders in arts and culture, including EU) - Excellent communication, public presentation and networking skills - Experience of financial management, monitoring and reporting - Fluency in English and another European language (French, Spanish, Polish or German) - Experience of working in a trans-national or intercultural environment - Trust-building capacities - Pro-active attitude - Able to deal with tight deadlines and work under pressure - Willingness and capacity to travel frequently in Europe Timing & logistics Interviews are envisaged to take place after 18 June Benefits: Competitive salary, excellent benefits, international and creative work environment
