Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of England, has encouraged culture as a feature of the 2012 Olympics. Writing to the Culture Secretary, Blair said that the Olympics organising committee should "maximise the part culture can play". He noted that artists play an important role in Britain's national identity. In response, the Secretary stated that the games will include a Cultural Olympiad, with plenty of benefits to the arts sector. For more information, CLICK HERE.
