The Hungarian Government has re-appointed their Culture Minister, but has given him a new role. István Hiller is the head of the ministry, which will be merged with the Hungarian Ministry of Education this year. Hiller is the state secretary for the Ministry of Education since 2002, and was the Minister of Culture from 2003 to 2005. Five advising undersecretaries were also appointed. Katalin Bogyay will be in charge of international relations, Károly Manherz will be in charge of higher education, János Szüdi will be in charge of public education and Márta Schneider will be in charge of culture. Ferenc Závecz will be overseeing the financial matters and administrative activities. “We want to make a better country…and this requires much change. The most important motor for this change must be the government of the Republic of Hungary,” Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány said. For more information, CLICK HERE and HERE.
