Gambia’s musicians have recorded an album of election songs in a bid to help educate the electorate on the importance of free and fair elections, and their right to vote. An initiative of Gambia’s Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), the 14 songs were recorded in different languages, so as to reach out to every Gambian. Mabou Touray, the Coordinator of Sound City Studio, which recorded the album, described it as “wonderful” and an ideal way to help sensitise Gambians to the demands of the election period.
