The Scottish Arts Council has welcomed the release of the Scottish Executive's draft Culture Bill, which calls for public submissions on how to best nurture the country’s arts talent. “We welcome the publication of the draft Culture Bill and encourage all those with an interest in the arts to respond to the consultation,” said Council Chief Executive, Graham Berry. “With the recent announcement of Richard Holloway’s appointment as chair of the coterminous board we look forward to closer working with Scottish Screen over the coming months in the move towards the establishment of Creative Scotland.” Dr Holloway, chair designate of the joint board of the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen, also welcomed the bill. “Creative Scotland has the potential to inspire and empower a new generation of artists and creative Scots to spread the influence of the arts throughout Scotland, energising and transforming our nation for the better.” “That's why it is really important for all those who are passionate about Scotland's arts and wider culture to contribute to this consultation on the draft Bill.” For more information, CLICK HERE
