The Arts Council of Wales has released its Annual Report for 2005/6. Valuing the Arts chronicles several “significant achievements” over a “challenging period” in the Council's history – a period which has seen the Assembly Sponsored Public Body reform proposals, the Stephens Review into arts funding arrangements, and an ongoing decline in Lottery income levels for arts funding. For the Council’s Chief Executive, Peter Tyndall, the report “demonstrates that ACW staff have not been distracted from their core business of supporting and developing the arts in Wales during these difficult times and that the benefits of the continued investment of funding from the Welsh Assembly Government, from the National Lottery and from Europe has allowed us – together with our partners, including artists, arts organisations, local government, higher education and the Welsh Assembly Government – to record another year of significant achievement.” For a copy of the report, CLICK HERE
