Study on Impediments to Mobility in the EU Live Performance Sector
Finnish Theatre Information Centre, Mobile.Home Project ,
01 January 2007, Finland
Richard Polacek actively researched the topic of mobility by making 100 face-to-face and telephone interviews with performing arts companies from over 20 European countries, mainly stressing the issues of taxation and social security but also asking about intellectual property rights and financial issues related to Culture2000 projects. The report of this study can be downloaded below; it contains the issues and themes raised and brings them together with the analysis of the main questions put forward to the Mobile.Home Helpdesk. This report includes a standard template comprising essential information (tax, employment, social info) necessary for arts workers moving from one EU country to another, and which can be used as a basis for strategic proposals to the European Commission and the Member States.
