Operations Director

The Arts Council, the Irish government agency for the development of the arts, seeks applications for the post of Operations Director. This senior post, reporting to the Director, will form an important part of the Council’s new organisation structure. This structure is being introduced as part of the implementation of the Arts Council’s strategy Partnership for the Arts. This appointment presents a new and exciting opportunity within the Arts Council. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the effective running of the Arts Council’s business processes. He/she will be expected to contribute to the senior executive team to ensure effective management of the business. In addition the Operations Director will lead the operations team in the delivery of excellent customer service and the achievement of quality and consistency across all of the Council’s work. A background and proven track record in managing operations in commercial or public service organisations is desirable, as is a broad knowledge of information management and HR and IT administration. Ability to effectively communicate, lead and take appropriate initiatives with the operations team will be a hallmark of success. Experience in the arts is not essential.
