The Arts Council of Northern Ireland has presented the case for further arts funding to a group of parliamentarians. Council Chairman, Rosemary Kelly, and Chief Executive, Roisín McDonough, went to the House of Commons at the invitation of the Performing Arts Alliance, an entertainment industry advocacy group which engages with MPs and Peers from all parties. Kelly described the meeting as “helpful and constructive.” “Our presence at the House of Commons reflects a growing appreciation, amongst political representatives, of the important contribution that the arts can and are making to the re-generation of our economy and society,” she said. The Arts Council has also been invited to meet with the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee to discuss further the situation. For more information, CLICK HERE
