Lower Manhattan Cultural Council / Arts Council Manhattan is seeking an experienced development professional for the position of Director of Development at one of New York City’s most dynamic and fastest-growing arts organizations. The Director of Development will work closely with the President, Board and senior staff to design and implement an annual fundraising program targeted to major public and private foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individual donors as well as to set long-term fundraising and planning goals and identify new strategies to support organizational growth. The Director of Development will report to the President and work in coordination with the Managing Director and other members of the senior team.   Responsible for: • Institutional Giving • Individual Giving • Special Events • Board Development • Manages Special Events Manager, Development Associate, interns, and seasonal consultants Qualifications: • 5+ years experience in fundraising, experience in an arts organization a plus • Strong institutional fundraising experience and demonstrated success in research, cultivation, proposal writing, budgeting, and project management • Intimate knowledge of the New York City funding community and an ability to represent LMCC at external events • Graduate degree in arts administration, nonprofit management, or related field or equivalent work experience • Superior written and verbal communication skills • Expertise in data management and record-keeping systems • Proven leadership and supervisory skills • Strong interest/knowledge of the artistic disciplines LMCC presents and communities we serve Salary commensurate with experience.  Health benefits package, three weeks vacation, transitchek, and amicable working environment.
