FILIPINO HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2007

Dramatic Online,
03 May 2007, Philippines

By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 439, which declares May each year as National Heritage Month, the Philippines holds nationwide, month-long celebrations centered on its heritage. It features performances, visual arts, exhibits, thematic culinary events and other activities emphasizing traditions and customs performed on heritage sites. Now in its fourth year, The Filipino Heritage Festival 2007 will highlight the bamboo, which figures significantly in Philippine culture as reflected in music, dance, architecture, literature and cuisine. And, like the bamboo, Filipinos stand tall, proud and resilient. Thus, this year's Filipino Heritage Festival is aptly themed "The Traditions of Bamboo." The Festival is a joint project of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Filipino Heritage festival Inc.
