The Australia Council for the Arts has formed a National Indigenous Arts Reference Group to provide cultural insight and expert advice for the development and implementation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts programs. ‘By drawing on the expertise of community and industry representatives in matters of cultural and artistic significance, this formal mechanism for consultation with the arts community will help guide and inform the future direction of Indigenous arts policy,’ said Australia Council Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts (ATSIA) Board Chair, Dr Chris Sarra.
