National Arts Council reveals

Over the last 3 years the NAC has been erratic and has borne the brunt of much criticism because of this. But now the NAC has emerged from its rather troubled past and - while it will take time and no nonsense implementation - believes it has the capacity, support and determination to build an institution that truly serves the needs of the arts sector and the community. The appointment of the new Council by the Department of Arts and Culture in August 2006 marks the beginning of an era of good governance, efficiency and delivery for the NAC. An important element of the change process has been to develop a strategy to bring about broad and fundamental change to the operation of the NAC and the way in which it serves its stakeholders.
