Director, Liverpool

Arts Council England,
10 October 2007, England

2008 is Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture year and your exciting challenge will be to ensure we play a central role as a partner and funder. This is a high profile role and a unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the arts in the region.
Working closely with, amongst others, the Liverpool Culture Company, city arts organisations and Culture Northwest, you’ll develop a long-term plan for the arts in Liverpool and ensure that our future work in the city is closely aligned with that strategy.
Co-ordinating and supporting both our regional, and national, arts development work here in Liverpool is no small task. That’s why a strong understanding of the arts is essential, plus accomplished negotiation skills and a track record of success as a senior manager within an arts management, policy development or local government arena. Along with your background in partnership working, it’ll be your outstanding communications skills, inspiring approach, strategic thinking and ability to develop large funding and investment programmes that will really impress us.
