Executive Director, Arts Strategy
This is a key appointment within the national office of Arts Council England - one which demands the very highest leadership qualities. The post holder will sit as a key figure on the national Executive Board and will work to the new Chief Executive, Alan Davey, who starts with the Arts Council at the end of January 2008.
The Executive Director, Arts Strategy will have responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the organisations Corporate Plan for 2008-11, which is due to be completed in April 2008.
The Executive Director will be integral to the success of our mission. We need a leader who can inform and support the future direction of the arts in England. Someone who can enhance and champion current artistic endeavour in all its established and fast changing forms, while driving future thinking flexibly, creatively and collaboratively. The post holder will command authority in the artistic community, and signify an Arts Council in touch with evolving and emerging cultural practice and changing audience and participation patterns. Essential to the success of this role will be the ability to make the arts truly accessible, to embrace the nation’s multi-culturalism and to enrich people’s lives at every level.
