Arts Council undertakes review of visual artists’ workspaces

Arts Council of Ireland,
16 January 2008, Ireland

The Arts Council is currently undertaking research into visual artists’ workspaces in the Republic of Ireland. The purpose of the research is to asses the provision of workspaces for visual artists and to make recommendations on how the Arts Council might approach future strategic support and development for workspace provision.
A research team has been commissioned to carry out the research.  The team, CHL Consulting, will undertake a survey of current workspace provision for visual artists, compile key findings and make suggestions to the Council on how it might make a significant, sensitive and meaningful impact to ensure sustainable and practical workspaces for visual artists in the future.
The research team includes Michael Counahan, Ali Curran, Charlie O’Neill, Ruairi O’Cuiv and Sarah Pierce. The team will be working closely with a number of people directly involved in the area.
