Scotland: Creative Nation Summit

High-profile speakers will present at 'Scotland: Creative Nation', a three-day Cultural Summit being held in Edinburgh at the end of February.

Scotland: Creative Nation is a platform for exploration, discussion, and debate of pertinent issues in the context of the development of Creative Scotland. Cutting across all three days are these key themes:

  • The Impact of the Arts
  • Innovation and New Artistic Practice
  • Engagement and Participation

Speakers such as Sir Brian McMaster, Feargal Sharkey, Richard Holloway and Tom Shakespeare will addres a selection of topics including: excellence in the arts; transformational power of the arts; and innovation and new artistic practice.

As well as two keynote sessions each day, the summit will feature performances, participative art workshops, seminars and breakout sessions.

Jim Tough, Acting Chief Executive, Scottish Arts Council said: ‘Scotland: Creative Nation will be three days packed full of passion, debate and discussion about the arts in Scotland.
