Arts Council England and Creative Partnerships to help young people discover their creative talents

Arts Council England,
13 February 2008, England

A new scheme designed to give young people in England the opportunity to experience at least 5 hours of high quality arts and culture every week will be managed by Creative Partnerships – Arts Council England’s successful creativity programme for schools.

The ‘Find Your Talent’ project will be piloted initially in 10 locations and will explore the best methods of helping young people discover and develop their creative talents through direct exposure to high quality arts and culture.

Arts Council England will contribute £6 million over the next three years to ‘Find Your Talent’, as well as £110 million core funding for Creative Partnerships between 2008 and 2011, both from its income from the Department for Culture Media and Sport.

The new scheme is co-funded by the Museums Libraries and Archives Council as well as the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Children Schools and Families.
